eu-ray is the European association for hydronic surface heating and cooling systems. Through a combined European effort the goal of eu-ray is to encrease the market for this type of heating and cooling systems in buildings or other systems where energy are transported by embedded pipes.

Another goal of eu-ray is to increase the technical knowledge of its members by transferring technical information between countries and companies.

A third goal for eu-ray is to influence the European standardisation under CEN and influence the European commission in matter related to our products. Finally eu-ray will act as a link between the national associations.

National associations have been established in: Germany (BVF) United Kingdom (UHMA) France (COCHEBAT) Switzerland (SFF) The Netherlands Finland (SULA) USA (RPA)

The members of eu-ray are companies working on an international level and the national associates.

Only as a European organisation can you have direct influence on European standardisation and the European Commission.

Due to the initiative of eu-ray a new Working Group 5 under TC 228 Heating Systems in Buildings has been formed to write an European standard for design and sizing of surface heating and cooling system (floor, wall, ceiling), when water pipes are embedded in the building structure. The basis for the design method should be EN1264 for floor heating. eu-ray has also supported the UK National association in its aim to influence the Building Energy Code in the UK.

eu-ray also supported the floor heating manufactures in Scandinavia with information and papers against the threatening claims of higher energy use for floor heating systems. Several examples also exist of transfer of information by publishing papers from one country in other countries.

These are a few examples on the kind of activities that eu-ray have been involved in. The level of activity will very much depend on the involvement of the membership with manpower and finances.
